Control of blinds remotely by a switch
Here is a video about a test system to verify several topics :
- a light control module (FGS-221) can directly control (association) a blind module (Fibaro FGRM-222)
- information are sent back to the controller : overall installation can be secured
- conclusion : no need to have a dedicated switch for each blind, being a backup a solution.
Note also that a switch can control up to 7 blind modules. Very interesting for a living room with several blinds…
Those modules are using non-secured Z-wave protocol. Thanks to bidirectionality of the protocole, overall installation can be secured : if a thief (very clever !) is able to send an opening command to a a bind, its opening will be detected by the controller which can alert.
I remind also that the RTS protocol from Somfy is not secured, nor bi-directional. An Aurel module permits to hack easily old blinds using that protocol (have a look to this post).
